Every year you have another birthday is a great year. Keep having them!! But, you do know with aging that " little things" just start to happen. Little aches and pains start to show up in your 30s. In your 40s your eyes seem to be going bad, turn 50 and your knees hurt all the time, you hit 60 and menopause and prostate problems show up. Some ailments that happen you'll just have to deal with as you go. So, let's do what we can do to slow the creeping aging process down. Here's a list of five things you can do daily to help slow aging.
1. Water!! Lots and lots of water. Try to get at least a half gallon a day into your system. Start with a quart in the am, even if it takes you all morning to drink it. Finish it at lunch. Start another quart in the afternoon and finish it before 8. Not always easy but you can do it.
2. Rest!! Get plenty of rest. Does that mean 8 hour of sleep every night? Not necessarily. Some folks do fine on 4-5 others need a full 7-8. Take time during the day to take mini rest periods for 5-10 minutes. Go to bed earlier, get up earlier. When you do #3, you'll actually sleep and rest better.
3. Exercise!! Do something every day like walking. You can choose the exercise but just do something over and above your daily routine. Keep moving. Use the stairs, park farther away from the front door at church, the movies, and the store.
4. Eat your vegetables!!! And your fruits too! Eat your meat baked and broiled not fried. Stay away from red meat and pork and stick with fish, chicken and turkey. Don't smoke and keep your alcohol and soft drink intake to a minimum.
5. Have fun!!! Enjoy family and friends, be a part of clubs and fraternities. Read, play games. Study and read about ideas to make the later years fun.
Regular chiropractic care should be a part of your health maintenance routine.
As always, just give me a chance!
